Enhance Your DUC2022 Experience with These 5 Tips

Enhance your DUC2022 Experience with these 5 Tips

The 2022 Deighton User Conference (DUC 2022) is right around the corner!

For over 30 years, Deighton has hosted the Deighton User Conference (DUC) to connect like-minded individuals and organizations on a global scale. DUC is an experience designed to deliver key learning opportunities and valuable resources to our clients, partners, and users. Featuring content for every level of asset management professional, DUC2022 will use a combination of live keynote presentations and industry case studies to not only highlight the direction and improvements that we have made to dTIMS over the past year, but the global impact of asset management and the trends that are appearing in the industry. Whether you’re new to the asset management scene, a strategic asset manager, an executive director, or anything in between, DUC2022 has exactly what you need.

Once again, the conference will be brought to you as a virtual experience. Although different, virtual conferences are just as beneficial as in-person ones; so, we compiled a list of tips to help you get the most out of your DUC2022 experience!

Tip 1: Learn how to Navigate our Virtual Venue

This year, our DUC venue platform recreates the experience of attending a live venue location. The different venue rooms and networking opportunities have been tailored to mirror what you would experience if DUC2022 was fully in-person.

To get from each session or social event, simply click on the banner with the corresponding title that matches where you would like to attend. Once you have clicked on the banner, you will be re-directed to the room where the session is taking place. Alternatively, you may also click on the headers in the blue navigation bar to go from room to room within the DUC2022 venue.

All sessions will be taking place in the auditorium.

Please refer to the “DUC2022 Virtual Guide” video below for a more detailed breakdown of how to navigate the DUC2022 venue and explore what it has to offer.

Tip 2: Double Check your Equipment

DUC2022 is a mixture of broadcast and interactive events. While various networking activities give you the opportunity to go on video, other sessions simply require a working microphone if you desire to ask questions and interact with the presenter. In order to participate fully, make sure you have access to the following:

  • A strong internet connection - wired is preferred, but a strong wireless signal will be sufficient
  • A device that can connect to the internet - ideally a laptop or desktop computer
  • A webcam
  • A set of speakers (built into a device or external), a headset, or ear buds.
  • If you are using a desktop computer, please ensure that you have an internal microphone or have attached an external one.
  • A separate handheld device (like your phone or tablet) can be handy for some of the more interactive activities and gamification
  • A quiet place to attend the conference free of distraction

Tip 3: Take Advantage of Networking Opportunities

The part we miss the most about meeting together for DUC is reconnecting with everyone in person and meeting all of the first-time attendees! Here are some tips to help ensure you don’t miss that opportunity to connect:

  • Our virtual venue offers access to Kumospace through our Networking Lounge. Join and navigate one of the many Kumospace rooms to network with the Deighton Team and other asset management professionals from all around the globe! Kumospace offers the unique feature of finding out who is already in the room and talking before you join. For the best experience using this networking option, we recommend being prepared to turn on your webcam and unmute your mic!
  • The “Chat” feature will be accessible to you throughout the entire conference. Speak directly to a Deighton staff member, connect with your coworkers with a quick message, or schedule video calls directly with anyone using this feature. This is also a great way to connect with the Deighton Team about booking demos or asking questions.
  • Attending DUC with your coworkers? Take some time to connect with them on Kumospace or through the chat video call between sessions and discuss keynotes, new ideas, and anything else you found interesting.

Tip 4: Block off Your Calendar

Blocking off time in your calendar for DUC will allow your coworkers that are not attending to know when you will be busy during the three days. This will allow you to be able to focus on the sessions with little-to-no interruptions and immerse yourself in the experience!

Add sessions to your personal external calendar directly from the venue Agenda. Simply, go to the Auditorium room and click the presentation screen to access the Agenda. Once you find sessions you would like to attend, select the “Add to Calendar” button in the bottom right corner in order to block out the time on your work or personal calendar.

Did you know DUC2022 will have BOTH scheduled and on-demand content this year? Consider blocking off some time to watch the on-demand videos too! As always, if you missed a session, you can always view it later as each session will be recorded and posted on the Deighton University post-event.

Tip 5: Take Advantage of all the Venue Resources

The DUC2022 venue is packed with opportunities to learn more about Deighton, dTIMS, and the improvements we have made over the past year.

Visit the dTIMS Lounge for links to Deighton specific resources. Book a demo, visit the “Support Portal”, enroll in the Deighton University, or check out our social media platforms all with just the click of a button!

In addition, the DUC2022 venue will have a virtual exhibit hall with booths. From here you can download resources like fact sheets and booklets or watch videos on different Deighton products.

Using the top navigation bar, you can also directly access videos or document shared by speakers during their presentations and store them in your virtual “Briefcase”. These items can be directly emailed to you or downloaded from within the platform with one click. (Refer again to the video for steps on how to do this.)

Although there are some differences, a virtual conference can be just as valuable as an in-person conference. Take advantage of some of these tips to help make DUC2022 a success for you!

DUC2022 is 1 week away, and we can’t wait to see you there!
