The 2021 Deighton User Conference (DUC 2021) is right around the corner!
DUC 2021 is the perfect opportunity to connect with asset management professionals from all over the world, explore up-and-coming trends in the industry, and receive hands-on dTIMS training. Once again, the conference will be a completely virtual experience. Although different, virtual conferences can be just as beneficial as in-person ones; so, we compiled a list of tips to help ensure your DUC 2021 experience is successful!
Tip 1: Learn how to Navigate our Virtual Venue
This year, our virtual venue looks to bring back the in-person touches of entering a conference hall and navigating the different rooms for each event.
To get from each session or social event, simply click on the banner with the corresponding title that matches where you would like to attend. Once you have clicked on the banner, you will be re-directed to the room where the session is taking place.
For your reference, any sessions, keynotes, or live panels are on banners in the light blue. Any networking event or after-hours social activities are listed on the banners in the dark blue.
Tip 2: Customize your DUC Experience
DUC 2021 features three different content streams each day providing you with a unique perspective into the world of asset management. Made up of Strategic, Tactical, and Training, each content stream will feature one-to-two different sessions you can choose from to tailor DUC to your liking. Customize your experience by choosing the sessions that meet your needs and interests!
As always, if you missed a session, you can always view it later as each session will be recorded and posted on the Deighton University post event.
Tip 3: Take Advantage of Networking Opportunities
The part we miss the most about meeting together for DUC is seeing everyone in person and meeting new people! Here are some tips to help ensure you don’t miss that opportunity to connect:
- The networking lounge will be open for use during the entire three days of the conference. Connect with your current network, collaborate with new professionals, and share ideas!
- After-hours social activities are a great way to relax after a long day of DUC and get to know the people you have networked with during the day. Don’t miss the dueling pianos and virtual casino night!
- Attending DUC with your coworkers? Take some time to connect with them at the virtual networking tables between sessions and discuss keynotes, new ideas, and anything else you found interesting.
Tip 4: Block off Your Calendar
Blocking off time in your calendar for DUC will allow your coworkers that are not attending to know when you will be busy during the three days. This will allow you to be able to focus on the sessions with little-to-no interruptions and immerse yourself in the experience!
Tip 5: Connect with your DUC 2021 Ambassador
As a DUC 2021 attendee, you have access to a DUC Ambassador! Your DUC Ambassador is a Deighton employee who will help ensure your DUC 2021 experience is a success. Leading up to and throughout the conference, your DUC Ambassador will be sending you email updates and suggestions on sessions you may want to attend, or something you won’t want to miss. They are also available to answer any DUC related questions you may have! Make sure you connect with your DUC Ambassador – they are there to help.
Although there are some differences, a virtual conference can be just as valuable as an in-person conference. Take advantage of some of these tips to help make your DUC 2021 a success!
DUC 2021 is three weeks away, and we can’t wait to see you there!
