SOLUTIONS
Deighton’s Total Infrastructure Asset Management Solution (dTIMS CT) was developed with one goal in mind: one solution for any size organization with any number of assets.
Over the years, agencies have made significant investments in computer-based systems to help them plan, forecast and manage the maintenance and rehabilitation of their assets. Historically, agencies would implement multiple systems specifically for each asset: bridges would have a management system with a separate database, pavements would have another system and water another. The goal for these systems was to provide accurate current information for each asset as part of the asset management decision process.
These systems worked well but as more data was collected, infrastructures grew and agency goals changed, the systems began to breakdown and were unable to provide consistent and accurate guidance. This greatly impacted an agency's ability to determine the condition of their assets at a given point in time, the costs associated with maintaining these assets at their current condition over a number of years, and the effect raising or decreasing the level of service for a specific asset might have on future cost.
The inability to confidently answer these questions is a paramount problem with most agencies relying on “home grown” or inferior systems. With the increase in information technology support costs and the development of new software, these “legacy systems” quickly became too costly, outdated and unable to support the agency’s growth. Since the early 1980’s, Deighton’s Total Infrastructure Asset Management Solution (dTIMS CT) has solved these problems and continues to rapidly become the preferred solution for agencies and consultants who want to replace their existing legacy systems.
Following our proven approach to implementation, the full Deighton asset management solution can be deployed in as little as six months. This satisfies agencies' immediate requirements for a centralized pavement management system with the added capability to support future analysis of bridges, sub-surface utilities, safety and mobility, without any modifications to dTIMS CT's core.
The following conceptual diagram shows how dTIMS CT acts as an infrastructure asset management solution.
The end result is a sustainable asset management solution matched against your organizations' way of doing business and delivering increased analysis efficiency with reduced analysis costs. Our integrated solutions provide a complete picture of the assets your organizations owns, where they are located and their current and future condition.
With dTIMS CT you can capture cost, maintenance, construction history and depreciation information and present the results for various budgets in an intuitive fashion through customizable reports, web browsers or GIS. You can also export analysis results to other compatible financial or work order management systems.
