Deighton attended the 36th International Forum on Traffic Records & Highway Information Systems in beautiful New Orleans, LA from July 25th to July 28th.
The three day forum draws attendees from around the world and provides a venue for the annual meeting of the US Association of Transportation Safety Information Professionals. Presentations at the conference covered a wide variety of topics pertaining to roadway safety, including:
- Building Strategic Highway Safety Plans,
- Current research to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities,
- The collection, storage and analysis of safety-related data on the road network to identify potential safety “hot spots” and to develop potential solutions
This year's forum was a resounding success! Original attendance estimates were for 250 but actual attendance exceeded 400; an increase over the previous year’s number and a strong message that even in the current economic environment safety remains a top priority for roadway agencies.
The conference provided an opportunity for Deighton to connect with numerous safety professionals and to discuss how dTIMS CT can provide a means to model roadway safety as part of a stand alone management effort or as part of a larger asset management initiative requiring cross-asset optimization.
