Deighton helps develop the FHWA Pavement Management Roadmap
by Arif Rafiq

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in cooperation with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) recently began an initiative to develop a Pavement Management Roadmap. Software independent, this study is focused on various topics surrounding the concept of Pavement Management, from data collection and storage, to institutional issues influencing the use of pavement management.

Deighton participated in the workshop which was held in Phoenix, Arizona on March 24th 2010. Deighton’s insight into data quality and how to best utilize pavement management analyses in the decision process will help to further progress the field of pavement management. In addition, it will highlight the importance of having a management tool in place, such as dTIMS CT, to help facilitate pavement management processes in an agency.

City and County of Denver | Bridge Prototype Project
by Jeff Zavitski

Deighton has recently started a prototype project with the City and County of Denver (CCD) to complete an element level bridge analysis within dTIMS CT. Using parameters developed for the PONTIS system by CCD, Deighton will implement these parameters in dTIMS CT. In that way CCD can tap into the tremendous analysis and optimization capabilities unique to dTIMS CT and unavailable in CCD's PONTIS product.

The prototype project will use 29 of the elements included within the CCD bridges and will set the stage for further developments when the prototype project is complete. Watch for more details in future editions of Insider.
