Asset Management Exchange

The Utah Department of Transportation hosted an Asset Management peer exchange at the request of the North Dakota Department of Transportation on March 9th, 2010. Seven NDDOT employees traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah for a one day exchange with their counterparts at UDOT.

The discipline areas of pavement management, bridge management, maintenance management, information technology, and members of management were represented from both states. Discussion focused on where each state is in the asset management journey, lessons learned, and next steps. Participants from both states felt the experience was very beneficial.

New dTIMS CT User Manual in the Works

Deighton has recently teamed up with the technical writing firm Words at Work to develop a new dTIMS CT User Manual. Words at Work brings considerable expertise and experience to this project. We are confident our combined efforts will produce a document that satisfies all of our users needs.

We are currently working on Phase 1 of 3 for this project. In this phase we will identify User Personas. Personas go beyond a simple label to identify each user type's background, information needs and expectations. Stay tuned for more updates on this project in future Insider emails.

Deighton Welcomes New Staff

Deighton is pleased to welcome Arif Rafiq to the Sales and Marketing team. Arif is a young, entrepreneurial engineer who has strong sales and marketing experience in the software world and has quickly become a valuable member of the Deighton team.

Arif certainly has not delayed his desire to become familiar with the Deighton family of users as he has embarked on a busy travel schedule which will allow him to meet with current Deighton clients. Arif has attended many trade shows and conferences and looks forward to the opportunity of meeting everyone and developing new relationships.
