dTIMS md: Whats Next?
April 1, 2013

2013 looks to be an exciting year at Deighton. In addition to the enhancements made to our core product dTIMS, Deighton is also making great strides on improving the functionality within dTIMS md.

dTIMS md is a web based tool that allows users to graphically browse their data and the analysis results within dTIMS. Also, if desired, some custom web-based reports could be embedded within dTIMS md so that the reports are available to remote users.

Using a Metro style user interface, similar to Windows 8, users can build the experience using tiles. Tiles are mini widgets that can fetch data from external sources. Clicking on a tile launches the full widget. Widgets can be from any number of reports that reside within dTIMS, to customized reports specifically built to fit the Dashboard experience and agency’s needs. This framework is built almost entirely of HTML, Javascript and CSS and thus highly portable to any platform.

As with Windows 8, the latest dTIMS md widgets may be relocated on the surface as the user desires.

dTIMS md widgets can have two states;

  1. Widgets shown as tiles. When shown on the Dashboard surface with other widgets it conveys a summary or overview of its purpose.

  2.  As an example this is the ROI widget when activated by the user.

The new dTIMS md framework will also contain a “widget directory”. This directory is where a user can select which widgets they would like displayed on their Dashboard.  dTIMS md will contain pre-designed reports and functionality, however will be scalable enough to create any number of custom reports a user may require.  A live demo of dTIMS md will be provided during DUC 2013.
