01-May-2012 | TRB 10th National Conference
Transportation Asset Management is steadily becoming more of a hot topic amongst Transportation Professionals around the globe. TRB’s 10th National Conference on Transportation Asset Management was held in April in San Diego, California. With over 300 attendees from around North America, as well as a few who attended from New Zealand, the week-long conference was an astounding success. Deighton was in attendance as leaders from many Departments of Transportation openly discussed the national state of affairs regarding Transportation Asset Management, what needs to get done, and where the most progressive programs are currently at.
With over 40% of the United States having implemented dTIMS, state DOTs have an unprecedented opportunity to leverage their existing investment in dTIMS to gain more results targeted to a wider audience for all types of roadway asset management. Rather than investing huge resources in acquiring new software, state DOTs can harness the vast capabilities of dTIMS to manage multiple asset classes interconnected on multiple location referencing systems, while being able to perform cross-asset optimization and trade-off analysis.
Being able to effectively manage multiple transportation assets on a single enterprise software platform can help to achieve the high level of efficiency public organizations are striving for.
